The Baron Michael Tossizza Foundation was established in 1947 with the purpose of preserving the cultural heritage and promoting the economic development of the Metsovo region. By the late 1970s, the Foundation had created a dairy factory employing at least least 15 workers, a cable car on Mount Karakoli, a Folk Museum, the Tossizza Mansion, a Conference Center that initially functioned as a student residence, and a Student Residence in Lykovrysi, Attica, to enable Epirotes to study in Athens - always in accordance with the wishes of Baron Michael Tossizza. 79 years later, the tradition continues and the Foundation, through its traditional dairy production and the identity it has always maintained, has kept the promise to its founder.
